To: Potential Urban Theater Magazine Writers

In our premier edition of the UTM we had four writers. We thank them for launching our adventure in the critical analysis, the archiving and the validation of the theater and performing arts of our community.

In our second edition we plan to publish ten writers. We've decided to publish the first ten quality articles we receive. As of today eight slots are spoken for. This group of writers includes: Mark Wells, David Rambeau, Ed Morisseau, Lebron Ford, Woodie King, Jr., Ernest Dillihay, Duane Shepherd, and Linda Rankin. Only two slots remain open.

For the upcoming edition and future editions there will be no deadlines; we'll operate on a first come, first served basis. If you miss the second edition, you'll be first in line for the third. So if you've got something vital to write, do it. Do it because it's in your mind and in your heart, not because you expect a paycheck since all we offer our writers, at this point, is UTM copies for family, friends, clients, contacts or colleagues.

You give us a value added article; we give you a collection of articles in a value added magazine, the UTM.

Please bring some focus to your work, and some passion. Make yours an article people will need to read ten years from now. That's the way we feel about it; we hope you do too.

Regards,

David Rambeau

PS: For guidance. We recommend The Elements of Style by William Strunk Jr. and E. B. White, a thin, paperback book found in libraries or bookstores. We also ask that you study the Internet website content of: Black Masks, Black Scholar, Negro Digest/Black World, Freedomways, Presence Africaine, Liberator and the Black Arts Movement.

Please expect each article to go through three drafts based on critical analysis by our editorial staff. Let's discuss your topic and direction before you get busy. Places please.
